Call now open for Instruct Research Sites

Call now open for applications for Instruct-ERIC Research Sites by organisations from Instruct Member countries.

Applications for a new Instruct Research Site may be submitted by an Instruct member. A Research Site may be one institution or organisation in a member country (excluding an existing Instruct Centre location), or a consortium of national institutions or organisations that collectively can provide training, outreach or networking activities of interest to Instruct. In the case of there being a distributed number of sites, there must be a strong central organisation structure (coordinated from the Instruct Centre if there is one) that can deliver on the commitment.

Applications should be submitted by the scientific national representative in the Instruct-ERIC Council to the Instruct Director using our online form addressing the following criteria.

  •  Provide a demonstrable commitment to provide training within the framework of the Training Committee guidelines in technologies that are central to the vision of Instruct and essential for its success;
  • Demonstrate a track record of scientific collaboration and a significant contribution in a field of research relevant to Instruct;
  • Be willing to comply with Instruct policies.

Research sites will be reviewed by the Executive Committee every five years, or at any time at the request of the Committee if concerns are raised. The criteria for selection of a new Instruct Research Site provided by a Member that is an Intergovernmental organisation may vary and will need to be identified on a case by case basis.

The deadline for application is the 30th of April 2021

If you have any questions please contact support@instruct-eric.org

Call Submission Guidelines

Instruct Research Sites must be hosted from Instruct Member countries.

Applications should be submitted by the scientific national representative of the Instruct-ERIC Council to the Instruct Director (also the Chair of the Executive Committee) and should provide evidence to address the criteria which are included in Annex 1 below.

Applications for a new Research Site will be sent for evaluation against these criteria to a subgroup from the Executive Committee; the Hub will manage the review process. The reviewers will use the evaluation scoresheet appended to this document. Completed reviews will be tabled at the next available Executive Committee for a decision to be taken. The applicant shall be kept informed during the review process to enable clarification or extra information to be provided in response to queries from reviewers. The timeframe for completion of the reviews will be communicated to the applicant.

The Instruct Director, or delegate in the Hub, will contact the applicant with the decision. The returned reviews (anonymised) will be made available to the applicant.

The applicant will have the opportunity to modify the application and resubmit at the invitation of the Executive Committee.

The Executive Committee will draft a note to inform Council of the decision at the next available Council meeting.
